Impact Results update 9/20

TNA NEWS: Impact TV ratings are in - details on how the post-No Surrender episode fared

TNA Impact on Thursday, September 19 scored a 1.04 rating, down slightly from a 1.08 rating last week for "No Surrender."

It was the first time back-to-back Impact episodes scored above a 1.0 in nearly two months.

Impact averaged 1.332 million viewers, down four percent from last week's average of 1.389 million viewers.

On cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked #32 in overall viewers, a distant #20 in males 18-34, and #15 in males 18-49.

Impact took a hit in the key male demos. Males 18-49 was down 16.9 percent from last week and males 18-34 was down 25.7 percent from last week. It appears Impact's overall rating held steady based on the performance of Impact's older skewing audience outside of the m18-49 window.

Impact's top competition, Thursday Night Football on NFL Network, averaged 9.4 million viewers for Chiefs-Eagles, up from 8.8 million viewers last week for Jets-Patriots.

Caldwell's Analysis: Week-to-week, it's fine drawing a 1.0 rating on a network like Spike TV, but this number isn't acceptable when considering all of the dangling carrots in-play that were supposed to bring Impact out of the 1.0-range - going on the road, live every other week, back to the 9:00 p.m. EST timeslot, Hogan and Sting as centerpiece stars, etc. It's clear that TNA has its hardcore, loyal audience, but their inability to draw in other viewers has kept them at the same spot, no matter whether the building looks more major-leagues, they're in the right timeslot, and recognizable, household names are featured.
