Sporting an overall record of 14-9, Beltran has gone 3-6 with one No Contest in the UFC. He was cut from the promotion previously in 2012 but was brought back into the fold after earning a win outside of the UFC. In his return stint, he went 1-2, with his win over Igor Pokrajac overturned after he failed a drug test. His last fight ended in a split decision loss to Fabio Maldonado.
- Junior dos Santos took a massive beating at the hands of UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez last weekend. Even UFC president Dana White has said that the fight should have been stopped earlier than the fifth round, either by referee intervention or from his corner throwing the towel. Either way, the fight ended as it did and dos Santos ended up in the hospital. In a troublesome note filed by Fighters Only via Combate, it came to light at the hospital that dos Santos actually thought that the fight was over in the second round and had no recollection of the last three rounds of the fight.
However, on UFC Tonight this week, Ariel Helwani revealed that dos Santos didn't suffer any real damage beyond some facial abrasions that required several stitches. Apparently, the memory lapses are to be expected after a fight like that and dos Santos' memory is expected to return. So, aside from the cuts, bruises and damaged pride, the former champion should be okay.
