Triple H talks about joining WCW before WWE

The official YouTube account of WWE has released a preview of the newly released Triple H: Thy Kingdom Come DVD and Blu-ray where Triple H recalls the nature of his arrival to World Championship Wrestling in 1994 as well as his contract negotiations with organization head Eric Bischoff.
Following a tryout match against Keith Cole that was suitable enough to be broadcast on the February 12, 1994 episode of WCW Saturday Night on TBS, Bischoff offered the then-24-year-old a two-year guaranteed contract. The WWE Chief Operating Officer explains why he asked for a shorter deal.

"This is one of these things that this conversation to me in my mind, I still, part of me believes like I can't believe I had the balls to do any of this," said Triple H.

"So [Bischoff] says, "I'd like to offer you a two-year deal, 52-grand-a-year." Triple H replied, "Can I just do a year? And he said, "I'm offering you two years guaranteed, you want one?" He explains, "Yeah, here's the thing. I said, "it's 52-grand. Right? So I'm going to starve for a year. At the end of a year, you're going to know I'm not worth 52-grand, or I'm worth a whole lot more than 52-grand. It ain't going to take more than a year to figure that out, right? Let's do a year."

The New Hampshire native's WCW tenure concluded after one year, as he left for the World Wrestling Federation after having his request to promoted as a singles competitor denied by organization heads. They had originally planned to pair him in a tag team with William Regal, and have future WWE Hall of Famer Sherri Martel as their manager.

Jim Ross back before WM,thought on Hogan,TNA,Shawn,Bryan, etc:

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his Q&A section on jrsbarbq.com. Here are some highlights:
If he has any interest in joining TNA as a commentator, in a creative position or in talent relations: "No interest whatsoever at this time. Moving on to other things."

Hulk Hogan's TNA contract expiring soon and if he will return to WWE: "Don't know....don't care as it a non issue to me. Some day Hogan making a WWE appearance won't surprise me."

Who is more charismatic and athletic between Shawn Michaels and Daniel Bryan: "LOVE DANIEL BRYAN BUT HE's NO HBK. NO ONE IS."

Some people within WWE believe that Jim Ross will be back working for them in time for WrestleMania XXX. Some also think he will still be used for interviews on DVD's and projects like that.
One source noted that JR's situation with WWE hadn't been good since WrestleMania and it was just a matter of time until something happened that would be the catalyst towards WWE pulling the trigger, and the WWE 2K14 panel was just that. Triple H, who was JR's boss while working with developmental, had known JR's days were numbered as far as Vince McMahon was concerned, so Triple H used to help JR out as much as possible before the call was made.

It was noted that there's always been an issue with Ross and Vince because JR speaks his mind to Vince when he thinks a direction is wrong. JR has tried to be political about it and not confrontational but Vince is used to people not questioning him.

Sunny shoot interview:arrested for fighting man,DDP Yoga program, etc:

WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch joined the VOC Wrestling Nation this week, opening up about her arrest, her legacy as a performer, and her assessment of today's performers. You can listen to the entire interview at vocnation.com. Highlights from the interview:
Being approached by WWE for the Hall of Fame: "When I got the phone call I had no idea what was going on. I was packing for a vacation in Mexico. It was a Monday night at 9:30 and Johnny Ace called; I thought it was really odd that Johnny would call me during the show. About 15 minutes into the call, he asked me to turn on RAW; at the time, they were announcing Shawn's induction into the Hall of Fame. He then told me that he was talking to Vince and they wanted me to be the second inductee. I cried for about 3 minutes. It was January 10, 2011 that I was told I was going to be inducted.

"They made me wait 2 months and told me I wasn't allowed to tell anybody. I can't keep secrets as it is. Everything that company does is a test, and I think they did it on purpose. I was the second person that they told, and I was the second to last to be announced."

Being ahead of her time, and being part of the product before there was all of the modern vehicles for females to make money: "Timing is everything. When I got there, there was no platform for girls at all: It was Miss Elizabeth standing there silent, or Sherri Martel and Alundra Blaze wrestling. I had to show the company that you can put all of this responsibility on a girl. Back in 1996 I was the first person other than Hulk Hogan that was doing mainstream interviews as a wrestler. Before me, Hogan was the only person that made it to Hollywood gossip and news shows. Would I have loved to do more? Sure, but we didn't have the platform at that time."

Coming in with Chris Candido: "I was hired first. They hired me as Tamara Murphy doing the Live Event News. Between WWE and Smokey Mountain I had a 7 day a week job. Five months into it they pulled Chris and I into a meeting and they offered him a job, and turned my broadcasting contract into a regular talent contract and the rest is history. It was easy for us to start together on the road; we were both 21, and being together and starting out that young, it made it so much easier. Chris had so much passion for the business. He started wrestling at 9 years old; that's passion."

Who broke her into the wrestling business: "Believe it or not, my first paying job in the wrestling business was for Bill Apter at Pro Wrestling Illustrated. I was 17 years old and just out of high school, and I was going with Chris to his shows and taking pictures and videos of his matches for his own use. I don't know how, but Bill Apter got hold of my pictures one day and he loved the way I shot. I would use my own money to travel to the shows and develop my pictures, and Bill would pay me $10 a shot. But at least I got the credit for it and it got me started (in the business). Bill loved all of us eager young photographers.

Being arrested for fighting a man: "Tell me you love me, put a ring on my finger, and then go and cheat on me and I'm going to kick your ass. (It's unfair) to call me psycho, any woman would have done that. 20 days after you get engaged and you find out he's been cheating the whole time? Any woman would have done that. Guys are pigs, I could go on and on an on."

DDP Yoga: "All he did in WCW back in 2001 was ramble about yoga. Back when I was in WCW, the whole locker room used to make fun of him. Before the shows he would be out at ringside with his yoga mat doing his yoga every single night. The boys used to make fun of him and rip him to shreds, and now he's turned it into an empire; it's funny."

What is missing from today's crop of Divas: "With the exception of Nattie Neidhart, heart and passion for the business is missing. Nattie is in the business because she loves the business, not because she's using it as a stepping stone for something else. The others, look what happens when their contract expires: They look for work in TV. In the Divas search, they didn't even know who Kamala was. Passion and heart is missing, even from a lot of the guys. (There are very few guys with passion) Chris (Candido) had passion, CM Punk has passion, and Daniel Bryan has it too."

UFC:Nate vs Gray,Dana shocked with Diaz Bros.,etc

- Nate Diaz is expected to fight Gray Maynard for the third time in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale this November 30, but according to the Stockton native, the bout may now be in jeopardy -- due to a high school reunion.
"@ufc Cant make it november 30th ive gotta high school reuinion i have to tend too...," Diaz posted to his Twitter earlier this week.

Whether or not the younger of the fighting Diaz brothers is trolling, UFC president Dana White told a group of reporters earlier this week, via MMAJunkie.com, that he isn't surprised by the fighter's behavior and isn't counting it as an official statement.

"I'm shocked," White said. "The Diaz Brothers are doing something crazy? I'm shocked. I heard about it yesterday. Somebody told me about it. But I haven't talked to (UFC matchmaker) Joe (Silva) or Nate or anybody. I don't even know if it's true... I don't take Twitter for news. It's not an official statement."

- Though early reports from Jon Jones' camp following his five-round battle with Alexander Gustafsson over the weekend indicated that the champion's foot was "shattered," Bones tweeted today that the damage was only superficial and that he'll be on the road to recovery in no time.

"Just got back from a MRI, Great news! my foot is not broken or fractured.. Focusing on a full recovery," tweeted Jones.

Ryback,Brock,Undertaker and The Rock for WrestleMania XXX

With WrestleMania XXX taking place in less than seven months, WWE officials have had discussions contemplating the possibilities of matches involving Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and Ryback. However, many of their ideas hinge on whether Johnson decides to commit to the pay-per-view event—management are currently under the belief that he won't.
Should Johnson decide to appear at WrestleMania for the fourth consecutive year, WWE officials are interested in renewing his 2002 rivalry with Lesnar, with The Undertaker placing his famed undefeated streak on the line against Ryback. However, should Johnson opt not to compete, the company's secondary idea for Lesnar is to have him face The Undertaker.

WWE's tentative storyline plan for The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX—should he decide to wrestle—would be for Paul Heyman to direct a large-framed wrestler to end the streak after CM Punk failed him the year before. The possibility of Ryback receiving this grand opportunity is also subject to his partnership with Heyman becoming an overwhelming success. Some people in management have even suggested that should they ever decide to kill The Deadman's famed streak, Ryback could conceivably be the chosen one.

WrestleMania XXX takes place April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

UFC Bantamweight Champ hopes to recover in time:

Jon Jones isn't the only champion who defended his belt last Saturday. Interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao continued his impressive run of dominance by taking out Eddie Wineland by second-round TKO, bringing his current UFC winning streak to six in a row.

The proper champ of the division, Dominick Cruz, has been out of action since October 2011, having suffered a knee injury and complications related to knee surgery. With a timetable of return for early 2014 though, it looks like Cruz will get the chance to reclaim the division's throne from the very impressive Barao.

"I want to fight the best guy when I come back. I think I can challenge him and I know I can beat him," Cruz said of Barao. "I can really trick him out. I want to prove to the world why I have the title. I look at it as a chess match. He mixes it up better than anyone in the division. I'm ready for that and I cannot wait."

For his part, Barao is eager and willing to face Cruz, so that he can claim the division's true title.

"I'm hoping he recovers as fast as possible so we can put on a great show for the public," said the interim champ.

UFC president Dana White has said that if Cruz is unable to return by early 2014, he may have to award the true title to Barao. With Cruz having now spent over two years out of the game, there's nothing unfair about that.

Cole interviewed Triple H:Miz being disrespectful,Orton A+,Bryan still B rank,etc

Michael Cole once again interviewed WWE COO Triple H on WWE.com. At the outset, Triple H noted that Cole had gotten a little disrespectful the past couple of weeks, to which Cole apologized. Here are highlights from the interview:
- When asked why he booked The Shield against eleven stars on RAW, he said that it was what the WWE fans and Superstars wanted. It was best for business, he gives the fans what they want.

- The Miz was disrespectful, and what Stephanie McMahon said about him was true. Miz isn't where he should be, and he's not the Superstar "that he thinks that he is." He calls Miz "a bit of a smart a--," which made Cole laugh. Triple H admitted he was too, but that he could back it up while Miz has never been able to. Miz has a big mouth which got shut.

- It's never been more clear that Randy Orton should be the face of the company after destroying the Miz and Rob Van Dam. He said that Orton is A+ and that no one can touch him.

- Daniel Bryan is "a good little hand" that won't give up, but he's a B player. He said that he shouldn't be proud that he took a team of 11 guys to beat 3. Bryan is "valuable," but a B player, and Triple H stands by it until Bryan proves otherwise.

- He was angry on Monday for Goldust and Cody Rhodes trespassing on RAW "illegally." He later felt bad for them because no one in the family has a job and can afford bail. After seeing the WWE.com poll where fans voted that the Rhodes family should have jobs with the company, he's inviting the Rhodes family on RAW this Monday and will give them an open forum to say whatever they want. Triple H said that he has a "lucrative" proposition for the Rhodes family, that they will be interested in. He guarantees the safety of the Rhodes family like he "guarantees the safety of each Superstar on this roster."

Stone Cold on UFC,Ryback's career future:

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin appeared on The MMA Hour yesterday and discussed MMA and pro wrestling. Austin also discussed Jim Ross, and noted that his podcast with JR would be released today. Austin noted that it was "a reserved conversation" that "was a little difficult." He also discussed possibly wrestling again.ack
"I tell you what, the longer and longer I wait, the more and more time goes down the road," Austin replied. "On one hand, it may be fun to do, but on the other hand, what's on the other side of that? It took me three years to get the business out of my system. Withdrawal would be a good way to put it. I got through those three years, and hell, it's been eleven years since I've been in the ring.

"I know a lot of fans want to see that," Austin admitted. "But what if it's not what it could have been or should have been? I don't want to go out there and do 90% of 'Stone Cold,' that's not who and what I am. It would take three or four months of a UFC-type came to pull it off... then what next? I was there, I did it at a high level, I had a great time. I took the business to a height that it's never been before. Hopefully someday someone will come on now that I'm done and take it to an even higher level. John Cena has done a wonderful job doing what he's done. Man, I'd say the chances are pretty damn slim, to be frank about it."

Austin went on to note that he's happy with all of his other projects, like acting, his podcast and reality TV shows. He also discussed MMA and pro wrestling, being "charged up" for UFC events, if Jim Ross could help the UFC and more.

-Ryback recently spoke with SunHerald.com to promote next Monday's RAW and talked about his feud with CM Punk:
"What better way than to take out C.M. Punk. He was the guy who started my downfall. That's what you strive for: being the guy who everything revolves around."

Ryback also talked about his road to success:

"I had a lot of setbacks and negativity early in my career. There was a lot of criticism. You have to brush it off. It all helped me become the man that I am today. Each and every day, I wake up wanting to do my best. I'm taking it one day at a time."

Matt Morgan on why fans should hate TNA,Jr on Rhodes vs McMahons:

Scott Fishman of The Miami Herald has an interview with Matt Morgan, who discussed his first WWE run, signing with TNA, his TNA departure and more. During the interview, Morgan talked about why fans shouldn't be upset with TNA over his departure.
"People get mad and upset all the time with TNA by saying, 'How could you let Matt Morgan leave TNA,'" Morgan said. "Well, because this is what they could have done. If TNA wanted to, they could have made me sit at home all the way until when my contract expired, which would have been next July. That would have been another year, miss a year in my prime doing nothing. A lot of companies have done that in the past. That's a business decision, and nobody can be mad at a company for doing it.

"They could have easily done that in keeping a 7-foot, 300-pound giant on their roster that they don't have. They didn't. My hats off to them for letting me move on with no strings attached and being able to put my family in a better situation."

- Jim Ross tweeted about the Rhodes family storyline:

"The reason most fans care about the Rhodes Family story on #WWERaw is because it's a PERSONAL ISSUE & there's an emotional investment."
