Should Zeb Colter guys be promoted as much as the Heyman Guy !?
Paul Heyman is one of the greatest managers in recent years in the WWE, being a general pain in the backside for certain superstars whilst building up the reputation of his ‘guys’; it is no secret that his work on the microphone is part of the reason he is so successful.
The saying says it all, ‘Paul Heyman can sell ice to an Eskimo’, because he is just that good on the microphone, and we have seen the likes of Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and now Curtis Axel be deemed as Paul Heyman guys; a great honour.
But when you take a look at what Friday Night Smackdown has to offer; the closest thing which lives up to Paul Heyman is Zeb Colter; a controversial character but very impressive on the microphone also. Obviously the gimmicks between Heyman and Colter differ as Heyman is more of a manager who focuses on business and does whatever is best for his clients; whilst Zeb Colter’s character is based around a racist, xenophobic heel who strongly advocates anti-immigration beliefs; although it is controversial you cannot deny that it is not entertaining.
Now that Paul Heyman is beginning to introduce more guys to his clientele; maybe it is time for Zeb Colter to do the same; sure he is doing a brilliant job with Jack Swagger, someone he has worked with for a number of months and has helped his rise from a jobber to a world title contender; and he has the capability of doing the same with other superstars.
If he is given the same freedom as Paul Heyman, what is stopping Zeb Colter from doing the same as the man who has helped elevate the likes of CM Punk and Brock Lesnar into household names? Superstars who are heels or even face superstars working towards a heel turn would fit in perfectly with Zeb Colter; or even guys who have much weaker microphone skills and need someone to address the fans for them.
