The Best vs The Beast

CM PUNK STILL THE BEST :

2013 Summerslam, we saw “The Best vs The Beast” as CM Punk versus Brock Lesnar finally took place and what a epic knockdown street fight we saw. A few sick chair shots from both men as they laid it all on the line and gave the fans everything they had at SummerSlam.

This is what WWE needs to do. CM Punk can put on a entertaining match with anybody in the business today. He can talk and drop on a Pipebomb on anyone at anytime and hit the Go To Sleep on anyone at anytime. The rant CM Punk made towards the fan in the front row on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW was completely all him and unscripted and was a legitimate emotional reaction on the part of Punk himself. I loved it and the fans loved it as you could tell by their reaction. According to fans at the event, while the individual who received Punk’s verbal venom on Monday was being obnoxious in his heckling of the WWE Superstar, he didn’t seem to say or do anything over the top but so what; when CM Punk has the microphone a Pipebomb can come at anytime. The word going around backstage at RAW on Monday was that Punk was said to be in a particularly bad mood, which is not completely out of the ordinary. CM Punk has a reputation of being grumpy at times and everyone backstage knows that.

It should be noted that while WWE doesn’t necessarily condone such behavior from babyfaces specifically, there was said to be no heat on Punk at all for the outburst. In fact, the general consensus was that due to the response from the crowd, WWE Creative did not mind or care what Punk did. What Punk did Monday night was awesome. Not only did he lay the Smackdown on a fat guy in the crowd but he also wrestled Curtis Axel in a Street Fight the night after going to War with Brock Lesnar.

Going into the next WWE Pay Per View in September I look for CM Punk to get his hands on Paul Heyman or have a match with Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel. Punk no doubt makes WWE more entertaining and will be doing so for months to come building to Wrestlemania 30.
